  • N4 crashing when using Jack 0.90?

    Dear Jim,

I am trying to get N4 to use the jackrouter but it seems that N4 crashes when i restart the app after changing to the Jackrouter output? I am using the latest driver which is Yosemite compatible, theres no problem for Reason to use the Jack router! Any tips here would be nice......

OS X.10, N4 (153) Jack 0.90 latest build for Yosemite.

    Kind Regards

I took a quick look at the crash logs, and there's a chance it may be an easy fix, but it will be a few days before I can test it properly. I'll keep you posted!

    Cheers,
    Jim

I did some initial tests… The crash happens when Numerology attempts to set the audio buffer size, even though the audio API I'm using says the buffer is indeed settable. Anyway, here's a workaround:

        - Note the buffer size you are using w/ Jack.
        - Quit the Jack server if running.
        - Run Numerology, set to built-in output w/ the same buffer size used by Jack.
        - Start Jack server.
        - Restart Numerology and set it to use Jack as output. Make sure the buffer size remains the same.
        - Restart Numerology one more time to get it to use Jack as the output.
