Vector and Launchpad X integration

Hello Everyone,

I'm super excited to getting a grasp with my Vector but I'm not sure if missing something.
Both my Vector and Launchpad is running the latest update.
Connection in Vector : global > usb status reads " usb connected " Launch Pad X.

Launch Pad powers on fine.
When I try to go through the different pages on the Launchpad it's unresponsive.
The launchpad remains on Session Page.

Does the Vector need to have a project loaded for the Launchpad to function?
